Jasper Columbia Pike

Previously, this building was owned by AvalonBay. The moment they sold this building to Jasper, everything went downhill. They took over the building and in the interim provided residents with no information on the amounts owed which led to an insurmountable number of issues. Aside from that, the staff are not very friendly, they are extremely deceptive - not upfront in any manner, they allowed a leak in the building to not only cause physical damage to the ceiling (which has been fixed) but the water damage leaked in the gym which caused several of the machines to rust, they wanted to be cheap and remove the 24/7 concierge which now causes an issue with deliveries, the overall cleaning of the building is not the same as with Avalon and several stairwells smell like piss for days without being addressed, homeless people have been allowed to sleep at side entrances which causes a safety issue, instead of them properly scanning the building, they blame the residents for not telling them things they should be proactive on, and a list of other issues. I have lived in this apartment for 3 years, and was happy here and had no intention on leaving. At this stage, I would do ANYTHING to get out of this lease. Now I understand why Greystar is apart of that class action lawsuit. The units are a nice size for the area, which will fool you into renting here. Whatever you do, please do not fall for the tactics. Take your time to read the TRUE recent reviews since Jasper took over, speak with the residents, join the Facebook group (not the one managed by the apartment company that doesn’t allow resident comments - the one managed by the residents where we talk about the real issues we face) and make your decision based upon FACTS and THE TRUTH!

7/24/23 Greystar Apartments took over this building. Renter beware that most 5 stars before this date is Avalon Apartment managed. I'm giving a 5 star for my experience while it was under Avalon but will update it depending on how Greystar handles the transition and being new landlords. It's a lovely apartments and neighborhood but unfortunately scared after reading all the negative feedback online about Greystar.

I’ve been here at Avalon for 3 months now and it’s been really great. There are some things that go wrong at times, but honestly the Apt is really fast at fixing all the issues I’ve heard of or encountered. The maintenance person here is the best! He also lives here so when I got locked out of my apartment the other day, he literally responded in 5 minutes to let me back in! Prime service! The concierge’s are all wonderful. The best best thing about these apartments are that they are sooooo quiet. I’ve never lived in such a quiet apartment. I don’t know if it’s the walls or windows that are sturdy, but something makes this place very sound proof. I don’t hear my upstairs neighbor hardly at all and it’s so nice. Parking has been great and I never have trouble finding a spot. Overall, this is a great place to live - highly recommend.
